Honed Roll Centre Correction kit includes:
A pair of ball joints that are intended to be pressed into Honda knuckles and alter the outer pivot point of the front lower control arm for the purpose of correcting the front roll centre height.
A pair of components that bolt to Honda rear trailing arms and alter the mounting position of the rear lower control arm for the purpose of correcting the rear roll centre height.
An adjustable tie rod kit which allows you to set the height of the outer tie rod pivot point for the purpose of tuning your front toe curve (commonly referred to as bumpsteer tuning)
Benefits:
- Ability to run aggressive alignment settings without compromised steering geometry
- Increased front roll stiffness
- Recover the camber gain characteristic of the front suspension at a lowered ride height
- Improved turn in and chassis response
- Excellent mid-corner adjustability
- Improved rotation on corner exit
These benefits have been quantified by on-track testing and can be visualized by way of the onboard data record.
You can read about our track testing with the roll centre correction geometry kit in this blog post
Our front roll centre kit is intended for vehicles that have our rear roll centre correction kit fitted.
Our geometry correction components are suited to vehicles with a ride heights between 295-320mm.
We recommend front spring rates in the range of 15-22kg/mm (850-1200lb/in).
We recommend rear spring rates in the range of 5-12kg/mm (300-700lb/in).
We recommend using the stock front sway bar that came with your chassis (or fitting one that came with a high trim level).
We recommend soft-to-moderate stiffness rear swaybars. The DC2 Integra Type R 21mm rear bar is a great option, or an aftermarket rear bar with a soft stiffness setting.
The rear roll centre brackets increase rear roll stiffness. For customers that have tuned their suspension to have high rear roll stiffness by other means, i.e. with high rear spring rates or stiff rear roll bars, we recommend that they reduce their spring and bar rates prior to testing
Honed’s complete geometry correction set up and spring and bar recommendations are suitable for street cars, track day cars and race cars
Tools required for installation:
- Shop press
- External Circlip pliers
- A piece of tube with ~41mm ID, 50mm long (to aid installation of support sleeve)
- Torque wrench
- Angle Grinder (and appropriate PPE)
- Drill and 10mm drill bit
(Optional but handy – die grinder)
Why do 88-01 front wheel drive Honda’s benefit from Roll Centre Correction?
These cars have a compromised version of double wishbone suspension; it’s referred to as Short-Long Arm. In our chassis, the upper control arms are relatively short, particularly the rear camber arms. This is different to say a Miata (MX-5) which has upper and lower wishbones of similar lengths. This system is superior to a MacPherson strut suspension design for a number of reasons but one downside is that the roll centre moves vertically down when you lower the car. In fact, at typical track car ride heights without roll centre correction parts fitted, the roll centre height is only just above the ground plane, and then during suspension compression (bump), the front and rear roll centres goes below the ground plane, and there is no incline in roll centre axis from the rear-to-front (which is desirable to have). What our roll centre correction parts do is raise the front and rear roll centres so that they are at what we believe to be the ideal heights at ride height and then don’t go below the ground plane at full bump.

I planned to go with a mix of suspension parts until I discovered Honed products, they really did their homework on these parts so I decided to purchase all of my remaining components from them, craftsmanship is great! Tom was very quick to respond to my questions. Thank you for the great customer service!
