Honda Adjustable Tie Rod Kit

$681.95 AUD

Adjustable tie-rod kit that alters the tendency of golden-era Hondas to toe-in at the front under compression, especially with high camber and castor values. This kit changes the behaviour to slight front toe-out under compression, increasing stability and grip.

Suitable For:

1987-91 Honda Civic (EF/ED)

1988-91 Honda CR-X

1988-91 Honda Integra (DA)

1992-95 Honda Civic (EG)

Alignment settings for golden-era Hondas with high castor and camber values create steering geometry that induces toe-in of the front wheels as the suspension compresses.

This is what is commonly referred to as bumpsteer, though is more accurately described as toe change through a range of suspension travel. This is a bad thing as it reduces tyre grip.

The Honed Adjustable Tie Rod Kit was developed to solve this problem. It is designed to allow the height of the tie rod end to be adjusted to correct for the drop in height caused by inclining the knuckle for greater camber and castor.

For example, with our kit, it is possible to have values of +3° castor and -3° camber with bumpsteer behaviour that matches a stock Civic, Integra or CRX.

Our tie rod kit can be used to correct the steering geometry of street cars, track day cars, time attack and door-to-door racing cars.

Note: there are two different variations of the OEM tie rod for the ED/EF models. The standard one, as fitted to the majority of models, and the tie rod with a shorter overall length, as fitted to EF8/EF9 SiR models and their equivalents in other markets. Please select the correct type when ordering. Below is a video detailing the installation process.
